DMCA Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

1. Overview

Cloud PDF App respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of its service to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, we will respond expeditiously to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the DMCA.

Important: Cloud PDF App is a browser-based tool. Files you process are never uploaded to our servers, stored on our systems, or transmitted over the internet. We have no technical ability to access, store, or distribute user documents. This fundamentally limits the scope of DMCA applicability to our service.

2. What the DMCA Covers

The DMCA provides a framework for copyright owners to request removal of infringing material from online services. Because Cloud PDF App does not host, store, or serve user-uploaded content, DMCA takedown notices are relevant only to content that is part of the Cloud PDF App website itself — including original text, images, code, and other creative works authored or published by Cloud PDF App.

If you believe that content appearing on the Cloud PDF App website (not user-processed documents) infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice as described below.

3. How to Submit a Takedown Notice

To submit a valid DMCA takedown notice, your written communication must include all of the following elements, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or, if your notice covers multiple works, a representative list of such works.
  2. Identification of the infringing material: The specific URL or location on the Cloud PDF App website of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  3. Your contact information: Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.

Send takedown notices to:
Email: contact@cloudpdfapp.com
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice

Warning: Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including attorney fees. Please consult a legal professional if you are unsure whether material infringes your copyright.

4. Counter-Notification Process

If you believe that material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. A valid counter-notification must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed and the location where the material appeared before it was removed.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or if outside the US, any judicial district in which Cloud PDF App may be found).

Send counter-notifications to the same email address above with subject line DMCA Counter-Notification. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will process it in accordance with applicable DMCA procedures.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

Cloud PDF App does not host user-generated content. As such, a traditional repeat infringer policy does not directly apply. However, we reserve the right to restrict access to our service for any party that repeatedly submits fraudulent or bad-faith DMCA claims.

6. No File Storage — Liability Limitation

Cloud PDF App processes all documents entirely within the user's browser using client-side JavaScript. We do not receive, store, cache, or transmit any files that users process with our tools. This technical architecture means that Cloud PDF App cannot be the source of infringing distribution of user documents, and limits our exposure under the DMCA's storage provider provisions (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)).
